I picked out a handful of recipes, many of which I had ingredients on hand for, and proceeded to create and fill my freezer! I found chicken breast for $1.99 a pound at my local Shurfine store along with a large bag of marked down hamburger (90%). Then at my local Shaw's I found a pork marked down and snagged that for a couple of recipes too!
My chosen list:
- Crock Pot Apple BBQ Pork Tenderloin Recipe located here
- Gluten Free Dairy Free Santa Fe Chicken Recipe Located Here
- BBQ Cranberry Chicken Recipe Located Here
- Hawaiian Chicken Recipe Located Here
- Salsa Chicken Tacos Recipe Located Here
HINT: Write on the zipper bag before filling with all directions you need to complete the recipe!
AND I made a large batch of meatballs (100+) that are all packaged and frozen for quick pullout.
Another great resource I found was a series of posts at MoneySavingMom.com called 4 Weeks to Fill your Freezer - week 1 is located here. She has recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts and more!
Good Luck and I'll keep sharing!
